The Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) has issued a yellow warning for torrential rain and thunderstorms across large parts of southern and central Sweden on Sunday.
“Starting early tomorrow morning, a large area of rain will move in from the south over Skåne. The rain will then slowly move up over large parts of Götaland and southeastern Svealand around lunchtime,” said Marie Staerk, a meteorologist at SMHI.
This weather system is expected to bring heavy rain and an increased risk of thunderstorms, especially in the southeastern parts of Götaland and Öland. The storm is expected to reach Gotland in the evening.
